Generative AI vs Editors / Reviewers (conference / academics / organizational)
Lets accept one fact, GenAI is here, and its here to stay, the cat is out of the bag, there is no turning back.
With that out of the picture. I urge all those who review other’s work or who do editorial work. Make your self familiar with Generative AI and how it works. Its not too hard to identify patterns and sign’s to identify GPT content. It will come in handy.
Personally, If someone is leveraging GPT to refine content i dont consider it bad. Its good to smooth out what you are trying to say in a better language if you can.
What i feel wrong and consider bad is:
- Using GPT’s and just copy pasting output without applying simpler logics.
- Using GPT to generate ideas and content in its entirety without using own thoughts.
There is a lot more to say around this topic i wrote a blogpost recently https://blog.anantshri.info/my-thoughts-on-the-new-and-emerging-world-of-gpt-ai-llm/ in case anyone wants more such thoughts.
