Since 2015 we at NotSoSecure | part of Claranet Cyber Security have given flexible holidays. there are three non-negotiable holidays (2nd oct, 26 jan, 15 aug) we keep rest 5 as open that people can change at the year start to their liking, We give some options as default which is up to people to pick or leave (we prefer keeping holidays which are on weekdays instead of weekends to effectively everyone gets 8 holidays). Couple of switches that are very common. I switch some holidays to bundle holidays around Diwali, a Jain colleague might prefer working on Diwali or holi but have 5 days off on paryushan and simmilar switches are very common in company. Being in consulting business it helps organization also as we get people working all the days even when it’s a big holiday and non-negotiable model would have left blank days.
